The death of imagination.

I was fascinated listening to a recording of the radio play "Miracle on 34th Street" from 1948. It was produced and acted so well that it allowed the listener to create images of the story from their mind. Technology now has given us television, the internet, video games and computer generated movies where all the information is thrown in our face to the point where we don't even have to think about it. It saddens me to know that subsequent generations may very well witness the death of imagination. Where do we go from here? Maybe we could simply buy our kids some books.
